In the U.K people have been doing forced induction Duratecs for years and it's well known that the crank in particular is a weak point. Timing chains are generally rated for the life of the engine and do not normally need maintenance unless there was a failure to maintain the engine, especially under normal driving conditions. I haven't seen any reports on the timing chains breaking on the Duratec's but some people have Ford Focus; Ford 4.6 & 5.4; GM-LS1; Honda B Vtec & H22; Ford / Mazda - 2.0L & 2.3L Duratec Performance level 5 - Stage 3 - Full Race - Drag Race and radical Alternators are very difficult to remove from these vehicles. You must separate the axle from the hub, and move it out of the way. This means disconnecting the steering, and possibly the end link.
